Acceptable Use Policy

This policy applies to every business that uses Digital Minions, and to everyone it invites. It is part of the Terms of Service. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you go ahead.

1. Calls, texts and email

You may not use the service to:

  • call or text anyone without the consent the law requires, or after they have opted out on any channel;
  • send marketing email without a working unsubscribe link and a valid postal address. The app adds both, so don't remove or hide them;
  • buy, rent or scrape lists of phone numbers or emails to contact;
  • send to a number or address you know is wrong, or keep contacting someone who said "wrong number";
  • get around calling hours, frequency caps, double opt-in or the carrier-registration hold.

2. Honesty about AI

You may not:

  • remove, change or hide the disclosures that a caller or reader is dealing with an AI assistant, or that a call is recorded;
  • tell a minion to pretend to be a person, or to impersonate a real person or another business;
  • publish reviews, testimonials or endorsements a minion made up, or present AI output as a real person's words.

3. Content

You may not use the service to create or send anything that is:

  • unlawful, deceptive, defamatory, harassing, threatening or discriminatory;
  • sexual content involving minors, or content that exploits anyone;
  • infringing someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy;
  • malware, phishing, or an attempt to collect passwords or payment details under false pretences.

4. Sensitive data

You may not:

  • process protected health information (Digital Minions doesn't serve health practices);
  • store card numbers, bank passwords or Social Security numbers in notes, knowledge or chats;
  • use the service to make decisions about someone's eligibility for credit, housing, employment or insurance. [Counsel: confirm this list.]

5. The service itself

You may not:

  • attack, overload, scan or probe the service, or try to get around its limits, approvals, permissions or locked rules. To report a vulnerability in good faith, follow /security/disclosure;
  • share sign-ins, or let anyone use the service who isn't allowed to;
  • reverse engineer the service, or use it to build a competing product [counsel to confirm];
  • break the terms of the phone carriers, the AI providers, or the services you connect (for example Twilio, Meta, Google, Microsoft and Slack).

6. What happens if this policy is broken

To stop harm, we ask an owner to pause the minion, the connection, or the whole team (Pause everyone). Digital Minions can't pause your workspace itself: if the harm continues or no owner can be reached, we can suspend the account at the hosting level or end the agreement. We will tell an owner what we did and why, unless the law or an investigation prevents it. Serious or repeated breaches can end the agreement. [Notice and cure periods: counsel.]
